How Ching Huat, Wheelock Place

This morning at about 0315hrs, a fire broke out at level 14, Wheelock Place, a unit under renovation. Fire was suspected to have been caused by a leaking gas cylinder used for hot-works by the contractors. SO Mohammed was alerted to assist to check on the fire. Through viewing of the CCTV recording, it was observed that SO Mohammed was extremely calm when on the fire floor. He was instrumental in extinguishing the fire by supervising the migrant workers in using the fire hose reel. His quick thinking to cover the leaking gas cylinder that was spewing flames with the fire blanket while dousing it with water from the hose reel prevented unimaginable damage from the potential explosion of the two gas cylinders. On behalf of Wheelock Place management, we would like to extend our since appreciation to SO Mohammed for a job well done.
